Toy care & safety
Safety first
- Check the recommended age on each product page. Toys marked 0+ have no small parts and stitched (not plastic or glued) eyes.
- Remove all tags, plastic bags and packaging before giving a toy to a child.
- Keep keychain toys and toys with small parts or ribbons away from children under 3.
- Don't put large plush toys in a baby's cot while they sleep.
- Keep toys away from fire, heaters and open flames.
Fluffing a vacuum-packed teddy
Big teddies are vacuum-packed for delivery. Unpack, shake well, fluff the stuffing with your hands (especially arms, legs and head), and let it rest for 24–48 hours. A hairdryer on the cool setting, held at a distance, helps the fur stand up.
Keeping it clean
Each product page says how that toy can be washed:
- Machine washable: put it in a pillowcase or laundry bag, use a gentle cold cycle and mild detergent.
- Hand wash only: soak in cool water with a little mild soap, squeeze gently, don't wring or twist.
- Surface wash only: dab with a damp cloth and a drop of mild soap. Don't soak.
Always air-dry completely in the shade before cuddling again; damp stuffing can smell. Don't tumble dry, iron, or use bleach. Brush the fur gently with a soft brush once dry.
Regular checks
Check seams, eyes and noses now and then. If a seam opens or a part becomes loose, put the toy away until it's repaired.
Storing
Keep toys in a clean, dry place out of direct sunlight, which can fade colours. A cotton bag is better than plastic, so the toy can breathe.
